Day 10

Deuteronomy 32-34

DO YOU NEED STRENGTH TODAY?

As your days, so shall your strength be – Deut. 33:25

Deuteronomy 33 contains Moses’ parting remarks to the tribes of Israel who were finally ready to cross Jordan and settle Canaan.  His last blessing was promised to Asher who was responsible for securing Israel’s northern border.  Asher was promised daily strength to complete their assignment.

Once we know our God-given assignment we need strength for the days.  Notice how God measures time – in days.  We’re so busy worrying about the future we can’t concentrate on today.  The future is now.  God gives His own strength, one day at a time, for the total number of days it takes to do what He put us on earth to do.  The promise is this – You won’t run out of strength until God runs out of strength.  What are the chances of that?  Moses gives two reasons to trust God’s strength.

First, there is no one like...God (v.26).  No lesser god or human can deliver the strength supply on such short notice. He rides the heavens to help you.  When you need strength He is there.  All you have to do is ask.

Second, God is our eternal refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms (v. 27).  God’s strength has always been there.  There has never been a moment when God’s strength was not present and available.  Look at the mountains.  They give us a feeling of stability and security.  God’s strength put them in their place.  Whenever we hit the wall and fear the fall, we let go and his arms become our daily strength.

None of us knows how many days we have left to fulfill our purpose, but we do know that when our purpose is God’s purpose He gives strength for every last one of them.  Are you securing some borders right now?  You’re not alone.  Your Strength is with you and beneath you.  Make a conscious decision to let go of your own strength and receive God’s strength.  He never runs out.

Trust your Refuge.
